Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

When I walked into the reception room at Vina Robles for Melisa and Justin's wedding, I was blown away by how gorgeous things looked.  The flowers, the place settings, the colors, and everything was just stunning.  Then, I saw Melisa in her wedding dress for the first time and I thought that the reception decorations were just a teaser.  She looked amazing.

One of Melisa's special photographic requests for the day was to focus on Justin's face as he first saw her walk up the aisle.  She really wanted to see the emotions that he was going through.  But, I had even more fun watching Justin get ready before the ceremony.  He was a nervous wreck.  Hands shaking so bad that it was hard to button his tuxedo vest.  Pacing the floor in the hotel room, nervously calling on all the last minute details he wanted to make sure were perfect.

But, as soon as the ceremony started and he saw her face, he relaxed to his normal self.  Which happens to be a wide-smiled, fun-loving guy who loves to make everyone laugh and have a great time.  As you'll see in the photos, the bride and groom are a great match...smiles all the way around.  Melisa and Justin...thanks so much for sharing your day with me.  I loved your wedding!!

Chapel Hill is this incredible little church on top of the hills off of Hwy 46 East outside of Paso Robles.  I'd seen it from the highway before, but never gone inside or hiked up to the grounds.  When Lindsey and Kenny told me that's where they were getting married...I couldn't be more excited!  The day was hot and windy during the afternoon, but it became a perfect North County evening when the reception started at Vina Robles.  The sunset was goregous, the wine fantastic, and the toasts were HILARIOUS.  Several of the groomsmen even wrote a poem full of Kenny's childhood exploits which had everyone doubled over in laughter.  Then the dancing started with the live band!  Such a great night.  I don't think the party ended till after midnight!

He watched the flurry of activity going on all around him at his house in the morning. Make-up, dresses, flowers, errands, more flowers, hair curlers...and he just absorbed it all. I love shooting wedding prep at the homes of my clients...because I get to see all the family photos on the walls. Lindsey's parents had a fantastic collection of their kids' photos all around the house. Made me feel like I knew them all so well.

The couple is pronounced as King and Queen of their new family kingdom together, and get crowned during the ceremony by the priest. The priest also shared the story from the day he married Lindsey and Kenny's parents...how's that for family ties?!

Dawn Stiller:

What an interesting church! I love the shot of them at the altar, and then the shot of them in front of it. It looks like a hollywood facade - just propped up there with no building at all behind it. How neat.

Beautiful bride too!
