Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

I need just a couple more hours to get a full blog post together for Beth and Greg's awesome wedding at Cayucos Barn...but I wanted to share one of my favorites that I ran across just now.  Definitely another favorite moment of a wedding day for me is the images when the bride and groom walk back up the aisle.  The look of excitement is incredibly candid and true.  No stress, no worries.  All that planning madness has slipped away and been replaced by the overwhelming new feeling of being tied to someone in marriage.  It is one of my favorite feelings from my own wedding day.

Tina and Mike got married on July 4th.  They should never forget their anniversary with a date like that!  Not that I think they would be likely too...because the day was super fun.  They got married at the Point Vincent Interpretive Center in Rancho Palos Verdes.

I originally got to know Tina and Mike from a wedding I shot last season.  Tina's sister Tracy married another Mike (known in family as Mike C or Mike #1, as opposed to Tina's Mike who is Mike H. or Mike #2) and I got the pleasure of hanging out with their families then.  I was especially looking forward to talking to Tina and Tracy's dad.  We'd had a great time at the first wedding...he had good advice about raising two girls.  And, in his particular case, I'm taking the advice since they turned out so well.

One of my favorite parts of this whole thing was that I actually saw Tina and Mike on their honeymoon in Kauai!!  I was walking down the road and they drove by on their way to Ke'e beach!  Seriously cool to see them so happy on their honeymoon!

Dad:

The pictures are beautiful, but then you had good subject matter to work with! Thank you for the kind words. However, Tina's Mike came along first and retains the title of M1. Tracy got married first, and we contemplated re-designation for the fellas, but M2 (Tracy's Mike) thought it best to retain the original M1, M2 order of things. I'm sure he thought M1 would be more likely to get into trouble first... and he's been pretty much correct! Love you, Katie... Dad

Hi, I know I don't know you guys, but my fiance and I were looking on line and were considering having our ceremony and reception at Point Vicente Interpretive center and we ran across your page in our search. Would you mind emailing me and telling me if you felt this was a good venue? And if it is affordable? Thank you, Brooke

Miranda and He-Joon were one of the couples who inspired me to take the family to Kauai.  I felt like I already knew them before the wedding since we have a good mutual friend...but they still had things that surprised and delighted me.  Some of them were He-Joon's mom's incredible Korean hand-made dress, Miranda's equally stunning Chi Pao (must get myself one of these some day), the INCREDIBLE food, a tea ceremony, and a super cool church tucked into a neighborhood.  The food needs a little more elaboration though, especially since I still haven't finished talking about with my friends and family weeks later.  The menu included shark fin soup, lobster, sea bass, assorted bbq, scallops, abalone, and my personal favorite HONEY WALNUT PRAWNS.  Seriously, that last item needed to be in capital letters...it was that good.  They told me at the reception that honey walnut prawns is a common dish at chinese restaurants...but I assure you that the ones here in tiny Paso Robles don't seem to know about that.  I am still dreaming about those prawns.

My clients, Kristin and Chris, have their wedding featured as one of three finalists in Central Coast Bride's Bridal Idol.  If Kristin and Chris get the most votes, their wedding will be featured in the magazine's next edition due out soon.  So, if you would all be so kind as to go leave a little vote on their entry...that would be great!  I think having your wedding in a magazine is a super cool memento.

To vote click HERE (don't worry, you don't have to enter an email address to vote.  no spam involved.)
