Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

This weekend was the wedding for Omega and Matt at Cambria Pines Lodge and it was like a gathering of my own friends. Most of the bridesmaids and many of the guests, too, were at Stacey and Matt's wedding almost a year ago (happy anniversary!), so it was a treat to connect back with them again. The weather was perfectly Cambrian...not too hot, not too cold and with just a touch of fog. Without more delay, let's let the photos tell the story. First off, Matt's a really good jewelry shopper, with two engagement rings and a wedding band! Sweet!! Omega's mom walked her down the aisle. There is something about their hands clasped that is so tender to me, not the usual sort of interlocked arms. It speaks to me of their connection. There was a pretty good moment of laughter as Matt didn't realize he still had one more line of his vows to go. He thought the officiant was moving on...but nope, he had one more line to give. It was church-mouse quiet for a bit...and then a good dose of laughter.

And one of my most FAVORITEST photos of late...this one of their relief when the photos were over and they could go see their friends. We only spent about 10 minutes on their formal photos, but I'm sure it seemed like a lifetime when all their friends were getting those wonderful smelling appetizers and cocktails. LOL! I'm not sure what kind of reaction the best man pretty-good-man (that's an inside joke from his toast, folks) was looking for from this baby, but it sure made me laugh! The room was decorated with hundreds of photos of Matt and Omega from throughout their lives. Thumbs up to Omega's sister Jada for putting it all together!

Just this weekend, I had a little (sarcasm, it was a BIG) problem with UPS delivering a package on time. Now, most of the time this would not be a big deal. But this particular package was boudoir album. A bride's gift to her soon-to-be-husband and it needed to be given on their wedding day, that was the whole point of the gift. While normally we order these things well ahead of time, the bride and I had only shot this particular session about 2 weeks before the wedding. So we really had to hustle to edit the photos, select the favorites, design the album, and get it printed. And, wouldn't you know it...their wedding day was Sunday, after UPS failed to deliver the package on Saturday. I called my ever wonderful album company, KISS wedding books. They sent people into their shop in SoCal that same day (a Saturday, a day when they aren't normally open) to start making a replacement and drive it to my house 5 hours away. Can you believe that kind of customer service?! It is unheard of these days. And, I am just pleased as punch to say that I work with them. Not to mention that their albums are the best thing since sliced bread. So, I thought I'd share a new clip of just how excited the WHOLE house is when one of their packages arrive. The girls are always super excited to see a new wedding album. The smell of that leather is just plain seducing. *note: no albums were harmed in the making of this video*

Katie- Glad all worked out for your client. Shame on UPS, KISS gets major kudos for pulling this off and recovering UPS's late delivery. That wedding book looks fantastic, I hope my wedding clients put an order in soon so I can try KISS out. Holly is just adorable in your stop frame animated video.

Yesterday lived up to all the hype. Katelyn had told me that it was going to be awesomeness at the family ranch. She said that she was doing a lot of the planning, and that her whole family was pitching in to help. I was told of handmade invitations, logos, decorations, a ceremony on a oak-studded hillside, and a reception in an old wood barn. All of it came true...and then some. Strap in, there's a lot of photos in this sneak peek. The day started off with preparations in the ranch house. With the exception of a little more wind than we needed, the day's weather was perfect. Katelyn thought of this cool idea to put up family photos on the barn wall, including the photos of her family's weddings. And, the little flower girl got in a well-needed nap before the day really got going. I made such good friends with the kids at the wedding, that they were literally crawling up the walls to hang out with me. Ba ha ha ha. Katelyn's bouquet had memory photos of her friends and family who have passed away...it was absolutely special. Katelyn and Daniel see each other for the first time (and check out Daniel's mom with her big smile, too!). We got them together before the ceremony for some photos at the barn. =) Grandma and Katelyn share a super tight bond. Love their looks here. This smile and excitement was typical of the day. And, for one of the best entrances I've seen...a 1914 Ford drove them to the ceremony (thanks Bill!) And, in a completely unposed moment while I was getting a fix on the light, check out this adorable moment. I love seeing newlyweds check out their new bling on each other. The party at the barn was spectacular-icious. Katelyn's grandparents have been married for 57 years. Which means in the year 2065, Katelyn and Daniel will have been married just as long. Take that in. 2065. wow. And...in a special mention. The flowers at this wedding were incredible. The Flower Lady in Paso Robles did the flower arrangements and bouquets. She's done several of the last few weddings that I've shot, and each time I am blown away by the creativity and beauty. So, we're giving the flowers their own special little section today.

What a beautiful wedding! Just gorgeous.
I love the idea of having the reception in a barn. The way everything was pulled of was so stylish and chic. I really love the way they displayed all of their pictures on the wall with the tree emblem. Very cool.

Love the photos. I want to hire you for my own wedding now. You are so enjoyable to work with and a pleasure to talk with at the event. Katie and Dan already are beautiful people but you managed to keep them looking magical.

Just a quick look at tomorrow's wedding venue. Oak trees, golden grass, hills, and good times on the way for tomorrow! and, i just know that this adorable little flower girl is going to be my steadfast friend by the end of tomorrow. She was sketch on me at first, but I did get a few hugs before I left tonight. She's gonna rock it manana!
