Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

My apologies for a quiet blog. Hopefully, you all have been doing the same thing that I was...enjoying the holidays with family and friends. I'll write more about my holiday experiences shortly, but first I thought I'd start the new year's with a new slideshow. I was pretty excited to see Alicia and Jim's wedding in the form of a slideshow. There was a lot of energy and emotions there, and somehow a short little sampling of still images just didn't seem to do it justice. A slideshow is just what this wedding gallery needed. (And, their wonderful album is due to arrive in a week...I can't wait to see it in person!)

Just before the last week of holiday shopping (aka MY only week of holiday shopping), Beth and Luke got officially married. They've known each other for a very long time are are obviously smitten with each other. While I would be taking a photo of Beth in front of me, I could see Luke's smile in the reflection of my camera's back LCD screen...they just couldn't stop smiling at each other.

Certainly that guy in the blue shirt caught the garter, right?!

WHAT?! He knocked it away?!

Who gets it? The unsuspecting guy who looks like he didn't want to. Isn't that the way it always goes for the guys?

Kristen and John were giggly, happy people when we met up for our engagement session. No different on the day of their wedding. John was, without a doubt, the most excited groom I have ever seen get married. When someone was teasing him about if he would go through with the day, he got a stone cold look on his face and said emphatically that he was "absolutely not leaving the church without Kristen" (and then busted out the million dollar grin again). This wedding was also super fun because of the awesome bridal party. A special shout-out to the bridesmaids for making me feel like a long-lost friend. Such an awesome group of friends!

Kristen's beloved Bun-Bun, her childhood doll, would not be moving with her into her new married life. Her friends took great delight in teasing her about Bun-Bun's "retirement".

John was super excited to see Kristen for our pictures before the ceremony. He just couldn't wait to turn around and see her!

Jessica and Aaron met on a blind date over 3 years ago (give that matchmaker a gold star). Aaron proposed on their one year anniversary (wow...he remembered the day? date? BONUS points). They've tried planning all sorts of weddings, and in the end they decided to get married at the courthouse where they live. They came down to spend a week together here in beautiful San Luis Obispo afterwards, and that's when I got to meet them.

Fun facts...Jessica is 4'11". Aaron is 6'1". They are adorably matched. Jessica walks better in heels than anyone I've ever seen. I have no idea why I noticed that fact...but it was amazing to watch how fast she walked down the stairs to the beach access in heels. Aaron gets car-queesy (and I drive slightly erratic). opps, sorry Aaron.

This wedding was special to me...I am friends with the groom's mom and think the world of her. Add to that, her son has served two deployments in Iraq with the USMC. I've seen Marlaine's face *GLOW* with an indescribable happiness and relief when Justin comes home from deployment. She is equally proud of her daughter Grace, and the three of them make such a tight family unit. When I heard Justin had proposed to Rachel, it was just a natural fit for them all. Rachel and her family have been there through the deployments and welcome homes. Truly awesome to see how well two families can blend together. Rachel's mom, Jill, could just NOT look at her without crying. So instead, she looked away and tried to hold it together. Justin felt a huge sense of relief, I think, seeing his mom enter the church's front door. Just look at that smile! The two new Mom-in-Laws together. Justin could not wait to hug his bride just after getting married. He stopped and squeezed her so tight that I could feel it 10 feet away. CLASSIC...a wedding with some good tin cans behind a rockin' car....yeah!!! The wildfires in Los Angeles made for some stunning red sunset clouds and smoke. Marlaine and Justin sharing their dance together...words can't suffice. And, in what was the hardest shot to take that night...Grace and her big brother share a hug. This was a moment so full of pure emotion and love that I almost felt like leaving it without a photo. However, it was just too powerful to miss. Single guys...you should have been at this wedding. Just *look* at all the women!!!
