Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

Brad's mom told me during the reception that she knew Alexis was "the one" for her son as soon as Brad started dating her. Brad fell hard, and he fell fast. The way he talked about Alexis, it was clear he was deeply in love. Brad's mom said a little prayer, like I probably will one day for my girls, hoping that this would be one great relationship...no heartbreak for her son. As it turns out, this prayer was answered. Alexis is also deeply in love with Brad. They giggle together constantly, seemingly lost in each other's humor and smile. Even when we had our pre-wedding discussions, I could tell that they'd spent a great deal of time laughing and enjoying the wedding planning process...rather than stressing or feeling pressure. They are just that way. And that's how the whole wedding felt too. Good. Clean. Smiles.

Katie, I feel that I owe you an apology. When Alexis and Brad went on about the wonderful photographer, I kept thinking what is so special about a photographer. Well
you have confirmed my recollections of this wonderful event as I am prone to embellish
good memories. Thank you for participating in my daughters’ wedding and the wonderful photographs.

Marisa and Philippe have a great story. It started with match.com. The middle part involves a wedding at the awesome Mission San Luis Obispo and reception at San Luis Obispo Country Club. Wedding guests came from Korea, Belgium, Texas, Arizona, and even Atascadero! And the last part of their story has many years and years to develop...but I'm hoping it involves lots of kids, family, travel and friends. I got to be there for the wedding this past weekend. *smile* And if I'm lucky, maybe I'll see more of the story as it develops. Y ahora, las fotos!

Philippe and Marissa got married yesterday at the Mission San Luis Obispo. I'll have a blog post for them up late today, but for now I have to go out and shoot another session. So, in the mean time...here's a little sneak peak...

My favorite days are when I get to blog a slideshow. Here's one for Kristin and Chris' fabulous wedding at Villa Toscana in Paso Robles. Right down the street from my house if you ever want to visit.

Kristin:

Besides agreeing to marry Chris, hiring you was one of the best choices I made for the wedding! Thank you for all of the wonderful pictures.

Another AWESOME wedding shoot Katie. Your candid work is truly amazing and people are truly blessed to be able to have you as their photographer. No offense to the bride and groom, but my favorite shot was of the husband and wife laughing and dancing...oh wait, that is my wife and I!

Kristin had jotted down some notes for what she wanted to say to her guests during the reception. She wanted to thank all her family and friends for their love, support, and attendance. Her note was very sweet...

Kristin trustingly gave the notes to *someone* to hold and when the notes were returned to her just before the toasts...some new phrases had been added to liven things up.

But, unfortunately, even the little jokes on the paper couldn't keep Kristin from choking up. She tried twice to start her thanks, and each time had to hand the microphone off to Chris for him to finish her sentence before she started to cry. So sweet (and a little funny too).

And the father-daughter dance made me weep. That crazy song "Butterfly Kisses" by Bob Carlisle got to me again. When I hear it, I imagine Jason dancing with Anna at her wedding...and I'm toast.

Check out Kristin's mom and brother watching them dance....awwww.

(and i still can't even look at this photo without tears beginning to well-up again)
