Erin and Garry chose beautiful Cambria for their destination small wedding. They had the ceremony overlooking the ocean at the Fiscalini Ranch Preserve along the Bluff Trail. The Bluff Trail is along a wooden boardwalk that hugs the cliffs with spectacular views. The difficulty? Getting chairs all the way out to the middle of the trail…but that’s where I have to do a little shout-out to Beach Butlerz. They are a local company that specializes in making events (from family day at the beach to weddings) easier. I’ve worked with them on several events and each time I’m impressed at how easy they make it look to lug heavy, awkward large things (umbrellas, chairs, tents, sofas, etc.) across deep sand. As I overheard Garry say while watching the Beach Butlerz guy hoofing the chairs both in and out along the long trail, “That’s the best bang for my money at this wedding!”
After the ceremony, we all headed to Stolo Family Vineyards in Cambria. The place was green and lush with all sorts of flowers, weeping willows, and grass. A photographer’s playground. For the kids, there was plenty of open space with games to play and fields to run on. For the adults, awesome wine tasting, shady picnic tables, and vineyard views. I must also take a moment to give one more special shout-out. They used a food truck called Haute Skillet to cater the reception. It was AMAZING. Like so delicious, I actually spent most of my 45 minute drive home thinking about the food. If you have any reason to ever book a food truck, you must check them out. You’d think the food came out of some fancy LA restaurant that had just been reviewed by Bon Appetit magazine.
