Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

Today was a special day. I got to see the parents of newborn(ish) twins. They are a rare breed. Traditionally, they are rarely seen in the wild (i.e., out of their house). They are slaves to feedings, naps, diapers, more feedings, walking, rocking, and soothing. So, to be invited into the brood today was a treat in itself. Not to mention I got to hold little Braden and Logen! Treats all around! You must be careful. Cavities could develop just from looking at this sweetness from today. The babes are 8 weeks old and simply adorable. Grandma and Grandpa came over just at the end of the session and the kids fell right into absolute heaven on their shoulders. Just zonked out happy-coma.

The wildflowers are in full bloom here! It only lasts for about 2 weeks, so you have to see them quick. I dragged my good friends out of bed early this morning to go take some photos in the fields...only to find that the sky was completely overcast and I wasn't going to get my golden morning light. Instead, we did get this cool shot, but the wildflowers are more like "wild silhouettes". I guess the flowers will have to be part of this weekend's afternoon shots.

The last time I met little Lily almost a year ago, she was supa shy. So this time, I came to the session armed with all my best distraction and entertainment ideas. To my surprise, Lily was all smiles and giggles! What a breeze!! We sailed through Balboa Park with all sorts of wonderful backdrops (and other photographers). Lily, love the bangs...but more than anything I loved hanging out with you! Kisses and hugs...

Usually when I'm in San Diego, it is a whirlwind of visiting with family and sessions...so sometimes it gets hard to make it to everyone's place. I've missed seeing my good friend Kate for the last few visits. Boo. Hiss. Kate and I had our first job together working at a pet store in the mall. We cleaned up a lot of poop in our day, combined with a fair share of dog grooming, kitty shots, and sales floor work. Once you've bonded over a job like that...you're not gonna lose touch with each other. Now we both have kids and mortgages...so I guess there's still a lot of poop in our lives. :) Here's one of my fav from the visit. (I wanted to try for an old 1970s photo feel on this one. Just seemed like fun...)

Can you top my day? I got to hold an itty bitty baby! Reese is just a tiny little thing, but full of sweetness! She's got a head of hair that reminds me of Anna when she was born...tons of dark lovely hair. Reese stayed awake for nearly 2 hours today...clearly peeping everyone and everything around her. Calm and collected, I think she was making mental notes about her day. To Do List: eat, sleep, poop, eat, sleep...
