Annie and Mike got married awhile back and I had a grand time with them. Today I was treated to a visit with their newborn son Joey. If you know me then you know that I think there is no better smell in the world than the top of a little newborn's head. It is so amazingly innocent and I jump at the chance to experience it whenever possible. Joey was born on March 29th weighing in at 7 lbs 5 oz. He's perfectly beautiful and healthy, too. (And yes, people...I do believe there are sometimes ugly babies. I had one. Holly was not cute until she was 3 months old. I'm not being a mean mom, just honest.) I am proud of myself that I didn't cry in their hospital room...I kept it together while getting to hold his tiny little body. I cried after I left the room. Annie and Mike will be on their way home soon, and I hope to have this blog post up and waiting for them.

Mike told me that Joey had a little habit of "fake" sleeping. He'd look like he was asleep, but then slowly open one eye seemingly to check and see if you were still there. Sure enough, Joey did it a lot.

Joey had good working knowledge of what a pacifier is used for. He was quite happy with it.

This is the (most adorable) little boy that I got to hang with...Nah Nah Na na naaaah! Caleb has the perfect combination of big cheeks, lots of drool, and two (and too) cute bottom teeth. And a tongue that lolls out like a dog in a car window. Loved that! I'm imagining a tooth must be coming soon. He also happens to be the son of a friend of Jason's (did you follow that?) from high school. I was super excited that they drove up for this session today, what a nice treat for the weekend! We hung out around downtown Paso Robles while I did my usual sales pitch enticing them to move here. Seriously people, the house next door to me is going on sale soon.

Wyatt, my muse

Wyatt came to the session like a professional. He was all happiness, perfectly well behaved and cute as a button. He brought along his parents (who were also perfectly well behaved and good-looking) just to sweeten the deal. While the winter chill has set in for sure, Wyatt was smart enough to bring along an adorable hat. (Note to self: buy a hat that makes me look that cute.)

Baby Lydia is here!

Baby Lydia is the first kid for Karyn and Phil. She came a couple weeks early, and is already thriving in her new environment. Karyn and Phil don't own a tv (I know! I know!!) or get the newspaper. So when I came to take photos 4 days after the elections, I wasn't even sure if they knew who'd won the Presidency. I was pretty sure all they'd been doing was looking at this awesome new addition to their home. Welcome Lydia, your parents are already super proud of you.
