Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

If you're keeping up on the DiSimone news, the new kitten that wandered into our yard (Jaws) has been officially adopted by us. We looked for "Lost Kitten" signs, but saw none. We asked all the neighbors...no one had lost a kitten. So, we took him in to get neutered and shots. Doctor said they couldn't find his "goods" and so they would have to do an abdominal surgery to find them (since the "goods" hadn't dropped). They opened him up...low and behold...no goods at all. So, my new kitten had already been neutered by who ever had owned him first. How bad is that karma? Neutering a cat for the second time? Making him wear this ridiculous collar for 2 weeks? Apparently, karma so bad that a lady ran into my car today...figures.

Poor kitty! The vet couldn't tell he'd already had surgery?!? Lucky kitty though to have found you!

It took me 33 years to be bold enough to pick this last pair of glasses I've worn. Big solid black frames. Pink streaks on the inside. They were an impulse buy on a day where my hair must have looked good enough to feel confident in buying such bold glasses (only girls would understand this correlation probably). Monday was my last day wearing them. I got LASIK!!! At 10 am, my world changed. I won't go into the details of the procedure (except to say I was definitely not given enough Valium to say "it was nothing")...but 2 hours after the surgery...I could see 20/20. So, in eulogy...my last pair of glasses. I'm not going to miss them.

So a couple nights ago, a kitten wandered into our backyard. The girls were thrilled because it let them pet it (our cats won't have anything to do with the girls...post-traumatic stress syndrome from being chased by them all these years). Anyways, the little kitten seemed hungry. We fed it. The little kitten seemed thirsty. We gave it water. The little kitten seemed to want to come inside. We locked the door and said good bye. Like we need *another* cat?! Well, that kitten stuck around for 40 days and nights in our backyard (ok, just one night and one day) and wore us down...so we let it in. The girls are SO excited that they just want to hold it constantly. And, these photos just crack me up! Holly just could not wait for her turn to hold the kitten... Current name choices by the girls: Holly: Dopey Anna: Cherry or Strawberry Shortcake Fluffy (because the cat farted and the kids call farts "fluffs") Jason: Rhino or Misty Jason now tells me that it is "Jaws" Me: Psst Psst outdoor kitty (because he peed on Holly's bed today)

Yikes. My oldest kid started kindergarten yesterday!!! Words can't describe how bizarre I felt taking my kid to kindergarten. Looking at all the other parents, kids, school grounds...just seems like yesterday it was me being dropped off at school. Anna's school is a Spanish immersion program. Her teacher, Sra. Mosely, only speaks Spanish in front of the kids. The school doesn't even want the kids to know that their teacher can speak English. In fact, Sra. Mosely won't even speak English to parents if the kids are around. Fine by me since I've been speaking Spanish for quite some time, but Jason's hurting. He's only got the usual vocabulary of cerveza, bano, and gracias. =) Anna was specific about her clothing. It had to be pink. It had to be a dress. She even asked to wear lipstick to school. (ummm...where did that come from?!) She tried to distance herself from us to be cool and casual, but you could tell she was really excited to be in Kindergarten. She was careful to walk up to school doing something cool like balancing on a curb...just in case other kids were watching. img_1580.jpg img_1582.jpg img_1585.jpg img_1589.jpg
