Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

Every once in awhile, my kids make me laugh so freakin' hard it hurts. For the last couple days, Holly has been periodically talking in a deep voice, calling me "Katie" (instead of Mommy) and telling me that her name is "Mr. Strong". Usually, she does this when she's wearing her black rain boots. It's been fun. Jason tells me that he thinks there's a cartoon character named Mr. Strong. So, today Holly walks downstairs and talking in her deep voice. When I turn and look...this is how she'd dressed herself. The perfect Mr. Strong. Black boots...check. Jeans...check. Bad ass chain belt...check. A tight black t-shirt...check. Indeed, my sweet princess who only wears dresses, this morning got dressed as Mr. Strong. Of course I *had* to get a photo of Mr. Strong all dressed up and acting in his (her?) tough way. Here's the 'tude that Holly Mr. Strong was giving...

Found this in our backyard today. I'm going to call the score Falcon: 1 Pigeon Flying Rat: 0 And may the victory always go to the falcons. I am so sick of pigeons trying to nest on the roof, in the morning near my bedroom window especially. *sigh* And a couple of Anna since she was outside with me checking out the feathers...Anna's current score Tooth Fairy: 2 teeth Anna: $2

That is great!

And like the true photographer you are, your first thought was to grab a camera to get the bird battle results :-)

Happy Easter!! It's one of my favorite days of the year in the 'hood. Jason started the neighborhood easter egg hunt about 3 years ago, and now it is one of the highlights of the year for me. I took the girls out for morning donuts and mocha, while Jason and the neighbor hid eggs around the entire street. The end result....over 250 eggs spread across 8 yards with 7 kids searching. That's about 35 eggs per kid. To say that their baskets were overflowing is an understatement. BUT, the best part is that there are soooo many eggs that each kid doesn't have to panic about not filling their basket. Even the littlest kid finds a lot. Holly's method: Find one egg. Open egg. Eat candy. Find new egg. Repeat. Anna's method: Run as fast as you can. Find as many eggs as you can. Make sure the majority of the eggs are pink. Candy be damned. And if you didn't believe they are totally different personalities, just look at their expressions in the photo below. HA HA HA.

A little backyard action before naptime. I have been sick with a nasty headcold...same one that everyone else seems to have already suffered through. Today was bright and beautiful outside, so I finally ventured out of the house for the first time in almost 6 days. I know what those blind baby moles feel like now when they first go outside...soooo bright! Anyways, the big surprise was that Anna and Holly ASKED (yes *asked*) to have their photos taken. So, I sat down in the yard while they ran by and shouted things like "Take a picture of my crazy dance" and "Here, take a picture of me playing guitar" and "Hey, take a picture of me looking cool." Pretty fun times, so here's the session as styled by the DiSimone girls.

Is that a softbox I see in that last shot? You know you are a photographer when you are busting out a softbox for some quick shots of the kids.

These are awesome Katie!

Rock on, ladies! Looking good. I miss you, but I still subscribe to your blog, so it's almost like you're not even gone. Please email me your home email account so I don't have to post my love notes here for the whole world to read. Thanks!

My husband's favorite phrase to tease me with is "They grow up so fast..." Anytime I'm getting all sappy about the girls getting older, he says the phrase with a little laughter in his voice which inevitably makes me laugh too. To get even with all his sarcasm, I made this slideshow for him. He watched it this morning and I swear I saw a little tear coming out of his eyes. It really is amazing how fast my girls are growing up...
