Welcome Nice to meet you!  This is just my simple blog about being a wedding photographer in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles, the people I meet, and the photographs I take...plus some stories to help you glue them all together.  Please feel free to leave a comment...I love hearing from everyone.  As my fortune cookie said "Great people will come into your life" so I take that to mean you all, too!

Kristen and John were giggly, happy people when we met up for our engagement session. No different on the day of their wedding. John was, without a doubt, the most excited groom I have ever seen get married. When someone was teasing him about if he would go through with the day, he got a stone cold look on his face and said emphatically that he was "absolutely not leaving the church without Kristen" (and then busted out the million dollar grin again). This wedding was also super fun because of the awesome bridal party. A special shout-out to the bridesmaids for making me feel like a long-lost friend. Such an awesome group of friends!

Kristen's beloved Bun-Bun, her childhood doll, would not be moving with her into her new married life. Her friends took great delight in teasing her about Bun-Bun's "retirement".

John was super excited to see Kristen for our pictures before the ceremony. He just couldn't wait to turn around and see her!

Jessica and Aaron met on a blind date over 3 years ago (give that matchmaker a gold star). Aaron proposed on their one year anniversary (wow...he remembered the day? date? BONUS points). They've tried planning all sorts of weddings, and in the end they decided to get married at the courthouse where they live. They came down to spend a week together here in beautiful San Luis Obispo afterwards, and that's when I got to meet them.

Fun facts...Jessica is 4'11". Aaron is 6'1". They are adorably matched. Jessica walks better in heels than anyone I've ever seen. I have no idea why I noticed that fact...but it was amazing to watch how fast she walked down the stairs to the beach access in heels. Aaron gets car-queesy (and I drive slightly erratic). opps, sorry Aaron.

Watch out, time just jumped ahead faster than it normally does. Both my kids grew years this past week. It was downright frightening. Here's some photos to prove it. Holly sleeping like the older woman she is. I nearly peed my pants when I opened the door and saw her sleeping with the eye shield on. What is she? 80 years old?
And, in the most amazing of experiences...Anna decided (after seeing her younger cousin Devan) that she wanted to learn how to ride a bike *without training wheels*. She learned in about one hour, without crying and without falling. I didn't think that would be possible. My memories of learning to ride a bike involved LOTS of crying, hitting a telephone pole, and blood out of each knee, elbow, and palm.

Mario:

Wow Katie...I remember Survivor nights at the house in SLO with when Anna was a newborn. Where has time gone?

Alicia Price:

Omg, I'm dying over the eye shield!! Love it!

Kristina:

What's more impressive is that she is biking in those pink platform flips! Just let me know when she is ready and I'll get her on the cycling team.

Anna "lost" her front tooth this evening (and found a new cute lisp). Although in reality she yanked it out herself with a string of dental floss tied around it. I think she has balls that clank. I could have never in a million years pulled out my own tooth. My stomach just turns thinking about it. I wish my Aunt Marge were here, she loves to yank a tooth.

Of course, Anna can't wait to show off her tooth and new grin to her friends at school. She came up with the idea to leave a note for the tooth fairy telling her to hold off on her visit for a couple days.

The worst part...her other front tooth is teetering by a tiny thread. I predict it will be gone before Thanksgiving. She's gonna hear *that* song a lot. You know...All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth, my 2 front teeth, my two front teeth.

Hehehe, so cute! I LOVE it! Daegen's got 2 front teeth are just barely loose and I want them out before Christmas so bad hahaha.

Annie:

Wow, she is BRAVE! My brother pulled out my two front bottom teeth for me... within two days. I, the ever-trusting little sis, actually believed him when he said he "just wanted to feel the second one wiggle" (the day after he pulled the first one) and then he proceeded to yank it out!

Stacy and Sean are old friends. As in they've known each other FOREVER. Grew up together. They dated when they were in high school, went their separate ways for college but stayed in contact. Fast forward to the grown-up versions of their previous selves...and they fell in love. Tight. Cool. Fun. I love stories like those. Stacy was a little nervous for photos, but I think they turned out fantastic! I'm looking forward to meeting the families next year! I'm hoping there will be a heap of photos from those high school days for everyone to enjoy. LOL!
