Miranda and He-Joon were one of the couples who inspired me to take the family to Kauai. I felt like I already knew them before the wedding since we have a good mutual friend...but they still had things that surprised and delighted me. Some of them were He-Joon's mom's incredible Korean hand-made dress, Miranda's equally stunning Chi Pao (must get myself one of these some day), the INCREDIBLE food, a tea ceremony, and a super cool church tucked into a neighborhood. The food needs a little more elaboration though, especially since I still haven't finished talking about with my friends and family weeks later. The menu included shark fin soup, lobster, sea bass, assorted bbq, scallops, abalone, and my personal favorite HONEY WALNUT PRAWNS. Seriously, that last item needed to be in capital letters...it was that good. They told me at the reception that honey walnut prawns is a common dish at chinese restaurants...but I assure you that the ones here in tiny Paso Robles don't seem to know about that. I am still dreaming about those prawns.
