Brad's mom told me during the reception that she knew Alexis was "the one" for her son as soon as Brad started dating her. Brad fell hard, and he fell fast. The way he talked about Alexis, it was clear he was deeply in love. Brad's mom said a little prayer, like I probably will one day for my girls, hoping that this would be one great relationship...no heartbreak for her son. As it turns out, this prayer was answered. Alexis is also deeply in love with Brad. They giggle together constantly, seemingly lost in each other's humor and smile. Even when we had our pre-wedding discussions, I could tell that they'd spent a great deal of time laughing and enjoying the wedding planning process...rather than stressing or feeling pressure. They are just that way. And that's how the whole wedding felt too. Good. Clean. Smiles.
Alexis:
Oh Katie - wow! These pictures are absolutely amazing. I am so excited to see the rest!!! :-)

Rachelle:

Dan Ramirez:
Katie, I feel that I owe you an apology. When Alexis and Brad went on about the wonderful photographer, I kept thinking what is so special about a photographer. Well
you have confirmed my recollections of this wonderful event as I am prone to embellish
good memories. Thank you for participating in my daughters’ wedding and the wonderful photographs.

If you need Jason tomorrow between 4:45 pm and 9:45 pm, this is how he will be. Please don't call the house. Don't even bother text messaging. He won't eat while the game is on. He won't leave the room. He will get all his chores done by noon and then spend the rest of the day pacing in anticipation of the game. He will be wearing green. He won't cut his toenails or speak about the Celtics chances (and other strange superstitions). Game 7 vs the Chicago Bulls. BIG game. Must win. Please let the game go well. I want him to be happy. I want to be happy. And, I LOVE RAY ALLEN!

Anna had her Baile de Primer Grado! We've been so excited to see this performance because she's been practicing for so long. We knew they had big mexican skirts to wear because every time she practiced, she held her arms out like holding an imaginary dress. We dutifully went and bought the white socks, white shirt, and black shoes to complete the rest of the attire. My only panic moment of the performance came the night before. The teacher sent home ribbons and a request to have her hair braided with the ribbons. ACK! I don't braid hair very well...normally Marcelle (our neighbor) does that for me. But, her house has the flu so we're not going over there for awhile. Anyways, we managed to get the hair braided in time to make it to school by the regular time. The girls were so excited about the performance that they didn't even eat breakfast.
This ranks right up there in my favorite parenting moments. Warm fuzzies all the way around.

I showed up for Audrey and Kyle's engagement session a bit on a downer since the Celtics had just lost game 4 in the first round of the playoffs. They smiled. Gave me a high five...and said "We understand your pain. We're huge Celtics fans, too." And instantly, I knew my day was better. Our session was a blast and I am really excited for their wedding later this year. Audrey and Kyle do things together that I would never do...like catch rattlesnakes, tag them and track them. They met in an herpetology class and have been together ever since. (by the way...I've looked up the word "herpetology" since I had no idea what it meant....apparently it has nothing to do with a certain communicable disease but instead is the study of reptiles and amphibians. I love learning new things like that.)
